My Greatest Gift
The greatest gift I can give is neither silver nor gold,
The greatest gift I can give starts with a story 2,000 years old .
While the shepherds watched their flocks by night,
An angel of the Lord soon took to flight,
To announce to the shepherds a virgin birth,
The coming of the Messiah upon our Earth.
The Christ child was born to Joseph and Mary,
From cradle to cross our sins He would carry.
He walked among us, then freely His life He gave,
He was nailed to a cross, and laid in a grave.
Just when the world thought all was said and done
The ground shook, the stone rolled away, He had only begun.
Jesus the Christ rose up from that grave,
That our sins may be forgiven, our life may be saved.
The greatest gift I can give is to share this story with all,
That you too might receive Him and avoid that fatal final fall.
The greatest gift you can give to me,
Is your testimony on how He set you free.
The greatest gift you can give to me,
Is knowing you’ll be with Him for all eternity.
Merry Christmas,
