Preparing a Place for Us

“[In His own words], I go to prepare a place for you. And, if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” –John 14:2b-3.
In the days following Christ’s resurrection, Jesus was seen by many.
In 1 Corinthians 15:3-8, Paul taught, “For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures, and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep [that is, died]. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time”.
Christ was crucified. He was *supposed* to be dead, and in a grave.
Yet, He was seen, very much alive, by hundreds.
As Christians, we believe Christ died and rose up from the dead.
We believe He, the King of kings and Lord of lords, overcame the worst that could happen to us – that is, death. We believe He, Christ, conquered death.
“O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” –1 Corinthians 15:55.
And, we believe, one day, we will be caught up [that is, “raptured”] to meet Him in the sky (1 Thessalonians 4:17).
“Behold, I [Paul] tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” –1 Corinthians 15:52-53.
In a twinkling, at the last trumpet, the dead will be raised and we shall be changed.
This is great news!
This is why Christ said, “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” –John 14:1-3.
He said it, I believe it!
Blessings.
