We set our clocks back one hour tonight. What are you going to do with that extra hour? Watch a movie? Get an extra hour of sleep? Party ’til its 1999? Or, maybe 2099? 🙂
What if … What if we all took that extra hour, tonight, and used it to pray – to pray for our families? Or for our friends? To pray for our neighbors or for our country?
What if we took that extra hour tonight and used it to read a portion of Scripture? One of the shorter books of the Bible? Maybe a couple shorter books? Or, we used it to start reading a larger book?
Not sure where to start? How about the book of John? I’ve seen the entire book of John printed, in fine print, on a poster size sheet of paper – that shouldn’t take too long to read. And, many of the words in John are Christ’s own words. Even better, get a “red letter” edition of the Bible – hard copy or online – and commit to ONLY READING the words printed in red.
Those words in red? Those are Christ’s own words.
Those words are the words of Christ, and what He had to say while He was with us.
In any case, what about spending that extra hour tonight with God? I’m sure He would love having you join Him for even just a moment. Maybe more?
